The Academy of Change is an online network and training course for young people who wish to collectively search for solutions as well as alternative approaches to bring about the change they wish to see in the world. The Academies has gathered young people across borders in gaining and sharing knowledge on how to work for climate, social and economic justice, as well as getting skilled in methods of change such as advocacy work and storytelling and in writing opinion pieces and political recommendations.
The main objective of the Academy of Change is to create youth empowerment and a platform for exchanging knowledge and ideas. Within this, participants gained in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of ideas and theories within sustainable societal transformation, and together we investigated and co-created visions and solutions based on the knowledge we gained throughout the Academies. Through the collaboration, exchanges and teamwork, the Academies are also a place for connecting and becoming part of an international youth network.
academy of change – sustainable democracies
We had the first Academy of Change in the winter 2021-2022 with the overall topic: Sustainable Democracies, System thinking & Future-making, Transformative Environmental Policies, Feminist Economics, Global Justice, Rights and Democracy, Digital Activism and Rights. All participants also got knowledge of theories and movements within sustainable societal transformation and was equipped to be a change agent themselves. Here they got: Lectures from experts in the field, Tools and training in storytelling, change-making and public communication, A physical toolbox was sent to their address at the start of the Academy, the chance to set the agenda for climate and social justice in their own society, they became part of an inspiring, interdisciplinary, and international network of young people. The youth participants formulated ideas and policy recommendation in relation to what they have learned. The first Academy took place from end November 2021 to end January 2022 and consisted of 7 sessions with 65 youth participants from 26 different countries.

The second Academy of Change was held in the winter 2022-2023 with the overall topic: Wellbeing Economy.
